Spenic Tapers take the guess work out of selecting plugs and caps, made from quality stainless steel and laser cut for precision in the UK.  These bespoke tapers provide a quick and easy to use solution to taper and plug selection.

Each set comprises 25 incremental sizes.  They are strung on a wire loop to make handling simple and contain 3 critical information points:

Mid-point measurement line:

The central line on the taper indicates the best fit line for the plug.  This is to ensure that the fitment of the plug fits the aperture of the hole (plug use) or circumference of the pipe (cap use) snuggly.

After consultation with users, selecting the correct plug delivers ease of use for dismantlers, but also ensure that end users of the recycled part can easly remove the plug or cap without damaging the part or risking fragments of the plug entering the aperture being protected.

The attached Spenic Taper / Plug data sheet has a column pointing out the mid-point of the Plug / Cap.  This measurement is the best one to use to match the product that you need for your application to deliver a good fit.

Top-point measurement line:

The top line on the taper is the maximum width of the plug, this will mean that the plug selected will fit the hole selected in a flush manner.  If dismantlers use this measurement, it may make it more difficult for end users to remove the plug.

Product code:

Each taper has a number laser etched onto it.  This number corresponds to the product code on the datasheet and our website that needs to be ordered.  No long product numbers, just clear and simple ordering.
