We are pleased to offer our new Caps and Plugs lineup, designed with your feedback in mind to simplify the ordering process. Each size now comes with a concise product code, making your selection quick and easy.
For battery terminal covers on UK/European vehicles, consider SP-30 for the negative and SP-36 for the positive.
ABS pumps generally need SP-8, SP-12, or SP-13 options.
Steering racks primarily feature SP-3, SP-13, and SP-14 varieties, although other options may apply.
For Aircon Pumps, choose between SP-40 and SP-27 (or VW-specific options like SP-3, SP-8, SP-27, and SP-53).
Injectors come in various types, so please refer to the pictures to select SP-24 or SP-10 accordingly.
To find the perfect fit, use the MP code on the dropdown, which represents the Mid-Point of the Cap/Plug. Measure the hole or cap you need, then select the closest match to the midpoint measurement.
How to Choose the Correct Engine Plug or Cap - (Click to Download)
With over 130 different sizes of tapered plugs and caps, finding the correct size is simple using our sizing chart.
1. Measure the Hole or Pipe
First, measure the diameter of the hole, pipe, port or opening that you need to seal.
Because our plugs and caps are tapered, you do not need to measure an exact size. You are looking for the closest measurement on our chart.
2. Find the Size on the Chart
Find your measured diameter in the sizing chart and look at the Mid-Point measurement.

For a plug, use the Outside Mid-Point measurement.

For a cap, use the Inside Mid-Point measurement.
The mid-point is the key measurement to use when selecting your size.
3. Select the Spenic Part Number
Once you have found the closest matching measurement, follow across the chart to identify the corresponding Spenic part number (SP-1 to SP-132).
For example, SP-27 has an outside mid-point of 16.3mm for the plug and an inside mid-point of 14.2mm for the cap.
4. Check the Quantity
The chart also shows a suggested minimum order quantity for each size. This varies according to the pack size of the particular plug or cap.
This means you don't have to buy large quantities unnecessarily, particularly for the larger or less commonly used sizes.
The Simple Rule
Measure the opening → find the closest mid-point → choose the SP number → select Plug or Cap.
